High-quality datasets are essential for training reliable and trustworthy AI models, and Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) systems play a critical role in ensuring that AI models learn from clean, accurate, and context-aware data. As AI adoption accelerates across Africa’s industries—from fintech to agriculture, logistics, healthcare, and government—the demand for skilled quality reviewers and data validators is rapidly increasing.

This course is designed for learners who already understand the basics of data annotation and now want to advance into quality assurance (QA), dataset governance, and HITL operations. Learners will explore how large annotation pipelines work, how quality is measured, how errors are detected, and how annotated data can be evaluated and improved using HITL methodologies.

By the end of this course, learners will be prepared to take on senior annotator, reviewer, auditor, or HITL operations roles, enabling them to support enterprise-level AI deployments.

Difficulty Level: Intermediate Level — For annotators moving into reviewer/QA roles

Course Goal: Train learners to become quality reviewers, validators, and HITL operations specialists, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability of AI training datasets.

Target Audience: Experienced annotators, team leads, QA specialists, and aspiring Annotation Platform Administrators.

Prerequisites: The completion of Course 1: Essentials of Data Labelling & Annotation for AI Development is required.

  • Produce QA reports and dashboards for data quality improvement.
  • Build and manage HITL quality assurance workflows.
  • Evaluate dataset quality using metrics and error analysis.

  • Participation: These are interactive sessions. You are encouraged to ask questions and share your screen (if comfortable) for troubleshooting.
  • Recording: Sessions will be recorded and made available for 48 hours for registered participants who cannot attend live.
